a weekend in des moines

A full weekend. A fun weekend. Emmy and I visited with my friend, Nicole, on Saturday morning while Brad and Alaina visited the Science Museum. A good time catching up with a good friend!

After Emmy grabbed a nap we ventured to our hotel pool. This was the first time Emmy got to swim with her Daddy. And, the first time Alaina was rescued from drowning by her Daddy. Yes, she decided to just go into the pool without us right away and Brad, the hero, jumped in with his shoes on and all to pull her to safety. She wasn't in long, but certainly enough to scare us! She is just fine and was breathing normally right away.

We ended our adventure at Cornerstone Church on Sunday in Ames.

How fun to sneak away with the family...

happy birthday emilia!

june 24.
emilia is one.

This baby is a blessing to our days. She cuddles often, laughs hard often, sings and dances often.

We pray that she would soon come to know God and make Him known.

Happy Birthday Emmy!
Love,
Daddy and Mommy.

visiting papa (and gg too)

My grandpa has been in the hospital for about a month and a half. Recovering from the surgery he had to remove his stomach due to stomach cancer. He is doing much better these days and is more and more that papa the girls are used to. He has one more procedure to go on Friday and then it will be time for him to recover and go home soon!

Lainie is always wanting to go visit Papa and GG at the hospital and she tells me it is because she misses them and we all do!

The girls love being loved on and that they are when we visit gg and papa.

house for sale

That's right. Our house is now for sale! So if you know of someone dreaming of finding a home in Wapello you can now send them our way. The "For Sale" sign went in our yard over the weekend. Brad and I both hope to have a home in the country, so we decided we better take some steps to start that process. I thought the pictures would be fun for those of you who live far away and may never make it to our place as we will hopefully be moving in the near future.

swimming and biking

Emmy's first day at the pool. Alaina taught her how to "swim". The picture was taken just before we went home...drying off and snacking.

Biking. Emmy got her first birthday present. Nanna and Grappa got her a bike trailer so she could go on bike rides this summer! Thank you Nanna and Grappa!
